Funny. I had a friend call and ask me to meet her for coffee this week (she has never done that before.) I also have another friend I am going to meet another day this week. I know I have to make an effort to touch, and I will be touched in return.
Thanks

Deena, I can't imagine just how difficult this month is for you. Your point reiterates why we so desperate need friends that we can go get coffee with, can stop by the house, ones we can touch! I hope you have one of those in your life. I know you are so busy with your kids, but make sure you take time for you!

Lynn, Thank you for your encouragement. Sometimes I feel like I am the lonely blogger out here. It is amazing that we can feel lonely, even when we are in a Bible Study online that has 7,000 readers. Renee's Bible Study is really helping me. I had a couple of days this week that I felt failure right and left., I am glad that I have learned the 5th week of a semester is often that way.
I released a baby for adoption 25 years ago on Feb.25 and this 10 days of February are an odd/lonely time. Once March comes the new hopes open up again. I see that and now give myself the slack I need. She is a great person living as a social worker in the North/ West. Thanks to Face book I get a glimpse into her life everyday. I have my own 4 children here to keep me busy enough, but I am thankful to keep in touch with her.
I listen to Air 1 a lot. Music helps me too.
Thanks you for your prayers.

It's a lie isn't Deena? That we can do and have it all?

All we need to do is what Jesus asks of us...He'll provide the rest!

Thank you for the encouragement!

Have a great weekend!

Dear Lynn, I know just what you are saying. When I was growing up there was a cigarette commercial for Virgina Slims. "I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in the pan, and never let you forget your a man, cuz I'm a woman..." You could do all that and smoke these "cool" cigarettes. 30 years later your will be dieing of cancer, but that wasn't part of the advertising. I grew up with Helen Ready singing, "I am woman..." I was a good Christian girl who wanted a perfect Christan husband...but I also wanted to be a working woman with all the perks Hollywood had to offer.
I had two marriages were I was expected to bring home the larger portion of money and the one I am in now it is like 10:1 ratio. I know so many woman that are forced to raise kids and be the bread winner. I want my daughters to have the proper Biblical world view, but they all 3 know they have to be able to support themselves too.
The only answer: Jesus is my provider. How ever the cash flow come in, He supplies. Most of all He is my best friend. He will never leave me or forsake me and He is a big rancher, "He owns the cattle on a thousand hills".
 I love your blog.

Lynne,

I so agree! My 16 and 13 yr olds teach me so much and convict me too, along with our youth group teens. My husband and I have worked with teens now for over 16 years and I love hearing other adults champion our teens. Thanks, Lynne!

Hmmm ... probably all three, but affirmation seems to be particular important to her these days. She likes knowing that I see the good things she's doing and it builds her confidence : )

Struggling every day to try to find a way to show affirmation to a step-daughter who wants nothing to do with me or my two children. We have all suffered the loss of a spouse/parent and really need each other to get through the valleys but, my efforts have not paid off. She is defiant and rebellious and life is soooooo difficult for us all. Praying for a heart change for both of us because I have not the strength to weather another temper tantrum from a 16 year old. The rest of our children need mommy too - I don't know how to love her.
Blessings, thanks for your ministry!
